Drawing Hands Studio is a design practice founded by Shruti Omprakash in 2015 in Chennai, India. We deal with Architecture, Interior Design & Furniture Design.
We address design through a multi-scalar approach : transcending architecture, interior design and furniture design.
Architecture: Residential and workplace architecture that’s adaptable and human-centered
Interiors: Spatial storytelling through layout, light, material and furniture
Furniture & Objects: Custom pieces designed for flexibility, storage, and movement (often mobile, foldable, or stackable)
As John Pawson said, “it’s all architecture”. Whether at the scale of a monastery, a house, a saucepan or a ballet, everything is traceable back to a consistent set of preoccupations with mass, volume, surface, proportion, junction, geometry, repetition, light and ritual. Design is all encompassing. For us, it is the way a space functions, the way it makes the user feel, aided by minimal, intelligent and sensitive design interventions. The goal is to bring out the best any space has to offer by closely collaborating with our clients and vendors ; be it a renovation or a fresh start.
