PRINCIPAL ARCHITECT

Shruti Omprakash is the Founder and Principal Architect of Drawing Hands Studio, a Chennai-based architecture and design practice she established in 2015. With over fifteen years of experience, she holds a Master’s in Architecture and Urban Design from The Berlage Institute at TU Delft, Netherlands, and a Bachelor’s in Architecture from MEASI Academy of Architecture, Chennai. Her work has been featured in Elle Decor, Architecture + Design, and other design platforms, and she has written for Architectural Digest, Arts Illustrated, and similar publications.

Drawing Hands Studio takes a collaborative approach to design, integrating architecture, interiors, and furniture design across residential, commercial, and workspace typologies. The studio’s philosophy centers on minimalism, pure geometry, and user-centric functionality — spaces built with purpose, not just aesthetics.

That same instinct for purpose over assumption led Shruti to develop GROWTH™, a proprietary workplace diagnostic framework that measures how a workplace actually functions — across growth, hidden potential, operational flow, work behaviour, transformation, and human performance — before any design decision is made. Where most practices begin with a floor plan, GROWTH™ begins with evidence, giving businesses a clear, scored picture of their workplace and a phased roadmap for what to change and why. Together, this reflects Shruti’s core belief: good design isn’t a matter of taste. It’s a response to how people actually work.
